The Truth Is Still Out There - Brief History of X-Files Merchandise
Share
Premiering on September 10th, 1993, just over 32 years ago, The X-Files introduced agents Mulder and Scully to late-night television - setting the tone for a decade-long cult phenomenon that blurred the line between paranoia and possibility.

The first wave of X-Files merchandise followed almost immediately after the show’s debut - small-run T-shirts printed between 1993 and 1995, often distributed through mail-order catalogues through their magazines, early conventions, or network promotions.
Among the key figures behind this early wave was Stanley DeSantis - an American actor, collector, and entrepreneur who quietly shaped the visual language of 1990s pop culture. Beyond his on-screen roles, DeSantis ran Stanley DeSantis Inc., a Los Angeles–based company that produced officially licensed apparel for cult television and film. His shirts stood out for their print quality, cultural timing, and understated design ethos - bridging fandom and fashion long before either became part of mainstream streetwear.

Now available as part of the Samhain Stall, Börze presents two original Stanley DeSantis X-Files shirts - classic logo designs from 1994 and 1995, preserved relics from a moment when the unknown felt tangible and television could still spark collective mystery.
